Someone told me recently that her selling point for the new Northwest Inspirations cookbook is the Buttermilk Biscuit recipe (p. 53). She said her family absolutely loves them - the best biscuits ever. When you get your copy of the book, check these out (I definitely will).

For Thanksgiving leftovers, I made a turkey and barley stew. I made bisquits using the recipe in the NW Inspirations cookbook, and placed them on top of the stew in a 9x 13 pan and baked for the same amount of time as in the recipe. The were very light and fluffy and a perefect combo with the stew! A nice variation to dumplings, firmer and crusty on top! The crowd ate them up!
